Jaguar Vanden Plas – Fender bender

    0
By Jason Kent on March 29, 2023 Repairs

A few more years ago than I’d like to admit someone ran into my wife as she was driving and did some damage to the fender, busted the headlight scraped up the bumper and busted the running light. It still drove fine, the lights still worked, etc. so I slapped some packing tape on it until I got a round to fixing it. The packing tape held up admirably as it patiently waited for me to find a fender in the right color.

I recently took on this project. I’m going to once again just load up my photos and plan to come back and add more to this later. My big discovery here, not all X350 headlights are created equal, I purchased 2, thought for sure I had it right the 2nd time, no auto leveling motor. No silver cover on the high beam. It was a frustrating experience but I managed to make it work using parts from the busted headlight.

10 inch rear wheels, Jaguar X350, we have clearance!

I recently upgraded from the stock 18" wheels (Jaguar Rapier) on our 2005 Vanden Plas to 19" wheels (Jaguar Aleutian) from a 2014 Jaguar XJ.  I wasn't a big fan of the looks of the Rapier wheels and they were a pain in the ass to clean with all the…

Keep your Volvo door lock trim in place!

If you own a Volvo made from 2000-2009 then chances are you are missing at least one of your door lock trim pieces.  I am new to Volvo but I've purchased 2 S60s within the last year and both of them were missing these door lock "bushings" as they are officially referred…

I am not a professional mechanic (or writer) but I take pride in fixing cars and not only keeping them going but making them better. I have slightly above average skills just like I would expect a lot of people who find this website do. Please follow my advice at your own risk... sometimes I fix things but sometimes I make them worse!
